Today was my first real day at the new job and it was a pretty important day! We had our leadership symposium today which was a lot of fun and I met a great group of people. There were numerous sessions I was able to sit in on and even got to facilitate a few. A very exciting day, and a preview of what will come! Stay tuned!
A lot has happened since my last blog! I am ending one chapter in my life and beginning another chapter! Recently I applied for a job that to me, is my absolute dream job, and much to my doubt I got the job! I am absolutely thrilled and can not wait to begin this next chapter however a little part of me is sad as I am truly going to miss my family at my current district. I wasn't really out there looking for a new job, as I REALLY do love what I do, but as this one came across my email I knew if I didn't at least apply for it I would always wonder. So I applied, was lucky enough to get the job, sadly put in my 2 weeks notice, and as I type this post I am slowly starting to pack my office a feeling that is very bittersweet.
My time with my district was much shorter than I ever really planned but when comparing the pros and cons I knew if I didn't take this opportunity and run with it, I would always regret it. My longtime friend and mentor Matt Rod told me as I was discussing the pros and cons with him that whatever I decided, I needed to make that decision and not look back. As I pack my office I know that although I am unbelievably excited to start this new job I'll never be able to not look back because a part of me will always be here!
